Curator, Behavioral Husbandry & Ambassador Animals

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for overseeing the care of all terrestrial animals and the corresponding Ambassador Animal department for the St. Louis Aquarium. We have built a reputation as a leader in the industry when it comes to Guest-Animal interactions. As Curator, you would be responsible for elevating our animal collection and championing the vision for all animal-interaction programs throughout the Aquarium. In addition to the day-to-day operations, this position will be responsible for all terrestrial animal behavior training, animal handling practices, public education and messaging, and community outreach appearances as well as strongly partnering with the Curator of Aquatics on the same areas for our aquatic collection. The Ambassador Team, (both human and animal), are key players in creating unforgettable moments for our Guests while connecting them to nature during their visit. By advancing the training program, developing the staff, and bringing enrichment to the facility’s wide variety of animals; the opportunities for this position to make a positive impact are truly endless.
